Mother of Twins Dies of Childbirth, husband abandons twin babies in Hospital over Bills

Father of twins, Mr. Monday Orobosa, has allegedly abandoned his the new born twins children in hospital on learning that their mother died after Child birthday.

According to eyewitness account, the late Mrs. Ruth Orobosa, an indigene of Edo State, died on Monday after giving birth to a set of twins through Cesarean Section (CS) at a private clinic; Living Springs Specialist Clinic, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta.

Monday Orobisa, who said to have torn in between happiness and sadness over the arrival the double blessings of twin babies, but sadness over the tragic death of the wife due to complications arising from child birth and huge bills absconded living the infants with the sister-in-law, at the Clinic.

It was learnt that the  sister of the deceased, Ngozi Agbor, has cried out for help as the Clinic, has billed them over Six Hundred Thousand Naira(N600,000) and there was no where to raise the amount of money.

She lamented that they have been at the hospital for over 14-days, since after the kids were given birth with no money to pay the bills. 

She lamented that the father of the twins absconded and his phone numbers switched off and there is no way to contact him. 

She maintained that the kids have been surviving by the grace of God and with assistance from good spirited individuals.

According to Ngozi who was in tears, “My sister Ruth, was based in Benin with her husband, she only came to stay with me here in Agbor, so that I can be of help to her after delivery.

“She delivered through Cesarean operation, when she came out of the threater, she was fine, but all of a sudden, she started bleeding and was taken to the theatre again for another operation. This time around, when she came out, she did not say a word and then she died.

“I appeal to the state government, nongovernmental Organizations, public-spirited bodies and well-meaning individuals to show us mercy by coming to our aid, nothing is too small.

“We are at Living Springs Specialist Clinic, directly opposite Winner Chapel, Old Lagos/Asaba Road, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. 

As at the time of filing this report, it was not possible getting the reaction of management of the Hospital.
