The Nigeria Customs Service portharcourt has requested for training programmes support in order to improve the capacity of its personnel from the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commission
This request was made known by the Custom Area Controller in Port Harcourt, Comptroller Awwal Mohammed during a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt zonal office of the EFCC.
“Any seminar you organize, invite us so that we can update ourselves,” he said.Mohammed who recently assumed office as the Area Controller, said he was at the EFCC with a message to improve on the cordial relationship between the Agencies. “I want to assure the Zonal Head, of total cooperation, working in harmony to improve on our cordial relationships,” he said.
The EFCC portharcourt Zonal head in his response said. ” A few weeks ago, I was at your office to introduce myself to your predecessor. That he has left and you are now in the saddle tells us one thing, the institution is what binds us together. So, in whatever we do, we must strengthen our institutions to achieve their objectives.”EFCC and the Nigeria Customs Service are strong partners in the fight against economic crimes and we will work together to strengthen this partnership and take it to new heights”, he said.
