Breaking News: Petroleum Tanker explosion in Port-Harcourt burning houses, Churches, Properties worth millions

… No report of casualties yet

A Petroleum Tanker carrying Petroleum products suspected to be Gasoline  overturned and exploded in the early hours of  of this Thursday morning very close to the Eliozu Bridge on G. U. Ake road,  Obio-Akpor local government area, a suburbs of Port Harcourt.

 

The explosion destroyed properties worth Millions of Naira. It is not clear yet whether there are casualties at the time of the report as it feared that the explosion may have caught residents in area their sleep.

The members of  Rivers State fire Service were the first to arrive the scene.

 

An Event and Catering Center worth over N500 million was burnt down.

 

The explosion has caused serious traffic  gridlock as people rushing to their various places of work.

The Petroleum Tanker explosion, which is  the second in less than four months  in same spot has burnt down houses, cars, Churches that are located within the immediate vicinity.

As at 6am, the  members of the fire service were having herculean task to put out the inferno.
