Wike Under Fire Over Deplorable Schools In Rivers

The Rivers State Governor Bar. Nyesom Wike  has come under fire over the state of public schools across the state.

The publication in radio programme monitored in Port Harcourt, reports that some civil society organisation lashes out on the Governor for his inability to put in same energy that he exhibited in politics, to the educational sector.

Narrating situation on the programme the chairman of civil society organisation in the State, Enifa Georgewill, accused the Governor for paying little attention over the condition of schools in the State.

George said, the state of schools at the local government areas are nothing to write home about, stressing that schools across the state is lamentable and needs immediate attention especially as schools across boards opens for new session.

The civil society organization further called on the state commissioner for education to redouble effort in rescuing all deplorable schools in the state.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Education in the state, in a swift reaction, said government alone cannot shoulder all the schools in the State, saying that efforts has been in top gear by government to ensure schools in the state are giving a face lift.
