Senator Betty Apiafi, representing Rivers West Senatorial District has offered miss Unity, the student who emerged as the Best Female Mathematics Student for Junior Secondary Schools in Rivers State in a competition organised by the National Mathematical Centre a full scholarship .
It was an exceptional feat for the girl, Miss Unity Emughedi Major from Okana community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area who was then a student of Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Okoboh.
Miss unity major’s exceptional feat got to the notice of Senator Apiafi, who offered her full scholarship from Secondary to University level, with an immediate promise of changing her school to a private boarding secondary school in Port Harcourt.
In fulfilment of the promise, Miss Major has been enrolled and has now started classes at Hallel College, an exclusive Private boarding school in Rivers State.
Miss Unity Major was taken to school by the the Special Assistant on Youths and Education to the senator, Engr. Joy Oyaghiri-Fagbemi in the company of her mother, Mrs. Boomni Major and teacher who tutored her to achieve the academic feat at the competition, Mr. Daniel Chukwunonso of CSS Okoboh.
