IAUE Suspends Lecturer Indefinitely for Allegedly Impregnating Female Student

The Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) says it has placed a lecturer in the institution, Dr. Rowland Uchechukwu Igwe of the Department of Sociology on an Indefinite suspension.

According to a statement issued by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, Igwe’s suspension is hinged on an allegation of serial intimidation, sexual harassment and undue canal knowledge of a female undergraduate which resulted in her being impregnated and suffering health complications.

The matter is said to have been referred to the IAUE’s Council-Senate Committee on staff disciplinary matters for further investigation.
