Female 200 level UNIPORT Accounting student found dead in apartment

A 200 level female Accounting student of the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, simply identified as Adaeze has been found dead.
She was found dead in her Off Campus apartment in Aluu Community of Ikwerre local Government Area of Rivers State on Friday November 3.
When her door was forced open a bottle of Sniper was found beside her corpse.
Confirming the incident the Deam of Students Affairs UNIPORT, Professor Chima Wokocha identified the deceased as Adaeze.
Wokocha said when the University management, the Parents and the Police visited the apartment and a bottle of Sniper was found beside her body.
“She did not die in the University, she died in her apartment. The body has been deposited at the Lulu Briggs Hospital. The parents are making arrangements to remove her body.”
The latest death is coming about Nine days after one Demian Okoligwe killed his girlfriend Justina Otuene a Bio-Chemistry student of the same UNIPORT.
Our Correspondent reports that the Rivers State Police Command had not reacted to incident despite it operatives were among the team that visit the scene.
It would be recalled that on April 30, 2019, the dead body of a 100 Level female Chemical Engineering Student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) was discovered by her course mates in her off Campus room at Aluu, Rivers State.
After forcing her door open, found in her room was a can of sniper on the floor and dried blood on her face. The lodge occupants said they saw her the previous day.
Probably she might have died since Saturday night and only discovered today been Monday.  She was said to have died of depression.
Research shows that depression is the leading cause of disability in mental health and is a major contributor to the disease burden worldwide.
It also claimed the lifetime prevalence of depression ranges from 20% to 25% in women and 7% to 12% in men depression is a significant determinant of quality of life and survival, accounting for approximately 50% of psychiatric consultations and 12% of all hospital admissions.
Our Correspondent also recalls again that in November 26, 2019, friends and family of the late Prince Digbani, a final year 500 level student of Electrical and Electronics Department of the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT were in shocked while wondering what could have led him to commit suicide by gulping pesticide suspected to be Sniper.
The late final year student who had won two bronze medals for creativity and innovation in Project design was described by his friends as very brilliant.
But they noticed that before his death, he was withdrawn and refused to confide in his friends about his problems.
According to some his friends, Digbani had left them at school to his off-campus apartment and by 3:51 pm on Monday and later, started updating his WhatsApp status as follows:
His co-tenants also said they later heard scream and when they broke the door and rushed to his room, they found him convulsing on the floor.
The neighbours said they gave him Palm Oil to drink after they found out he had taken a poisonous liquid pointing to what he had consumed.
