FCOE CHAIRMAN MELUBARI RESTATES COMMITMENT FOR BETTER EDUCATION

To work in line with president Bola Tinubu renewed hope mantra,the 7th Governing Council of the Federal College of Education,Eha-Amufu,under the chairmanship of Prince Akekue Melubari ,said it is committed to work in collaboration with stakeholders of the college to ensure the best and reposition the school to be among the best in the country.

Prince Akekue Melubari, expressed the college commitment in a statement, made available by the college public Relation Officer (P.R.O), Obi Chukwuebuka,to the Towncrier, recently.

Prince Akekue Melubari thanked ,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for finding him and Hon. Ganiyu T. Olukola, Barr. Chukwudi Lordrich Eneh, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Bamali, Engr. Charles Usua Akpan worthy to serve in the council,even as he promised not to disappoint the president on his confidence on the 7th Governing council.

The Chairman, outlined the council’s strategic objectives to include: providing quality and inclusive education, teachers development and empowerment, introduction of innovative curriculum, provision of smart study centers and digital platforms, encourage research development and collaboration, improve students welfare, effective community engagement and social responsibilities.

He noted that the above objectives are aimed at developing a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce primed to provide expanded opportunities for all, regardless of background or location.

Prince Melubari reaffirms Council’s commitment to the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda in education which emphasizes the need for a comprehensive, inclusive and forward-thinking approach, a vision that resonates deeply with ” my beliefs and aspirations for this great institution.”

The Chairman enjoined members of the College community and the leaders of the host communities to join hands with the council to achieve the set goals, saying “Let us embark on this journey together with determination, optimism and a shared commitment to the transformative power of education,”

Earlier in a welcome address, the Provost of the institution, Prof. (Mrs.) Pauline Ngozi Ikwuegbu, noted the importance of the Governing Council in shaping the strategic direction of every institution, adding that the presence of the council in the College highlights their readiness to work for the success and growth of the institution.

“The Provost noted that the vast insights, expertise and leadership qualities of the council members is critical in navigating the challenges and opportunities to create academic excellence, robust innovation and uninterrupted progress,”

Several stakeholders spoke in optimistic and encomium on the new governing council,while, Hon. Gabriel Lebechi Eze, a member representing Isi-Uzo constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, described the members of the 7th Governing Council as special and expressed the hope that they will deliver in all aspects.

Akso speaking the Anglican Bishop of Eha-Amufu Diocese, Rt. Revd. Daniel Nkemjika Olinya, appealed to the council to look into the declining students’ enrollment, security threats, need to establish a Police division in Eha-Amufu as well as facilitating the conversion of the institution to a University of Education since the College already has infrastructural facilities that can host a university.

The ceremony was witnessed by dignitaries from all works of life including the traditional rulers from the seven autonomous communities in Eha-Amufu, led by HRH, Igwe Sir Engr. Sam Ogbodo, President Generals, as well as political office holders in Enugu state.
