‘Why I poured my husband hot oil’, –Wife

Favour Nwala Nwankwo, a mother of one, who poured hot vegetable oil on her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo, at their home says she did it out of anger and begs for forgiveness.
Mrs Nwankwo, who lives with her family in Igwuruta Community, Ikwerre Local Government Area, is asking for forgiveness. She spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt at the headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command .
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, said an investigation is ongoing into the matter.
Favour Nweke Nwankwo narrated what transpired between she and her husband before the incident.
Favour who was  paraded at the police station along with other criminal suspects said she and her husband have been having marital issues before the incident.
She said the recent problem came when she confronted her husband on his alleged illegal dealings including: suspected kidnappings, which made her  invite her younger sister to live with them to bear witness and help monitor the alleged criminal  activities of her husband.
According to her, her husband was not comfortable with the presence of the younger sister and he asked her to leave which led to a fight between them when she poured him the oil
She denied claims by her husband that her sister was dressing indecently and sleeping on their matrimonial bed
She also denied claims of having and extra marital affair.
She regretted her actions and called for forgiveness.
CP Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka Commissioner of Police Rivers State said her case is under investigation and she will face the law at conclusion of investigation.
