Rivers Police boss warns travelers against using unapproved Motorsparts

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Mukan has advised the general public to avoid patronizing unapproved motor parks to avoid falling prey to kidnappers and armed robbers.

CP Mukan made the appeal on Thursdays, December 24, 2020 while briefing at Moscow road, Police headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

CP Mukan also disclosed that as part of security arrangements put in place, the command has deployed personnel to strategic locations in the state, in line with visibility policing strategy.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police revealed that all critical Government infrastructure, vulnerable and key points will be given special attention, including worship and fun centers.

He noted that the strategy captured the coastal communities to ensure that, people travelling to the riverine communities are save. 

The  Rivers Police boss further revealed that the Marine Police, the mobile Police and tactical units have been put on red alert to ensure a seamless celebration including undercover operation.

In the meantime CP Mukan has advised all residents of the state to strictly observe Covid 19 protocols particularly the Presidential directives on gathering of persons and wearing of face mask among others, as defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.

CP Mukan re-iterated call on the ban of fireworks, crackers and knockouts. He said defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.
