* Suspect attempted to escape after burying the corpse of his late father in a shallow grave.
At the early hours of today, Saturday September 26, 2020, at about 6:am.
Police operative attached to Umunze Division in collaboration with the local vigilante group in the early hours of today, Saturday September 26, 2020, at about 6:am, arrested one Chisom Ogum, aged 26years for allegedly clubbing his father to death burying him in a shallow grave.
The suspect narrowly escaped being lynched to death by an angry mob who beat him to stupor at Umuomaku Community in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State.
The 26 years old Chisom Ogum, who allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained, attacked and killed his own biological father one Christopher Ogum aged 70 years of same address with a shovel and buried him in a shallow grave.

It was gathered that after the incident, the suspect attempted to escape before he was apprehended and beaten to stupor by angry mob who equally forced him to exhume the corpse of his father from where he buried it.
Meanwhile, SP Haruna Mohammed, Spokesman of Anambra State Police Command said the Anambra Police Detectives visited the Scene of crime, photographed the victim and recovered before it was taken to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor at Umunze General Hospital.
Consequently, the offensive weapon used in perpetrating the crime was also recovered as exhibit, while the Commissioner of Police, CP John B. Abang, has ordered for the case to be transferred to the State CriminaI Investigation Department, Awka for further investigation.
