Police operatives kill one suspected kidnapper, arrest another

*Recover arms, trail others on the run

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command attached to the C4i Intelligence Unit in gun duel with suspected kidnappers, kill one and arrested another during a raid in one of their hideouts at Ndoki Waterside in Port Harcourt.

The Command said it’s operatives, while acting on credible intelligence, on Saturday 11th February, 2023, at about 3 am, swooped on the syndicate at Ndoki Water Side, Port Harcourt. In the gun battle that ensued, a key member of a 5-man gang terrorizing Rivers State was neutralized.

The suspected gang of kidnappers were said to target high profile personalities in the society demanding and collecting  huge ransom.

According to a press statement signed by SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Spokesperson of the Command, “One AK-47 rifle with 26 rounds of ammunition and one revolver pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the arrested suspect, while one kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt”.

She assured that efforts are being made to round up the rest fleeing members of the syndicate.
