As the onslaught against criminals continues, Operatives of the Rivers State Police command today, Friday June 16, killed three suspected kidnappers at Isiodu forest in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
CP Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka in a press briefing said in continuation of the command’s move to make Rivers State crime free will leave no stone unturned in the process of making Rivers State.
Giving details of the latest operation CP Nwonyi said at about 3:30am on 16, June, 2023 stormed a hideout at Isiodu. The hoodlums on sighting the operatives, opened fire and gun battle ensured, in the process three of the hoodlums were fatally wounded and were confirmed dead at the hospital.
CP Emeka disclosed that eight magazines, 70 rounds of live ammunition
10 catridges were recovered from the gang.
He stated that Police operatives on routine patrol spotted a corpse tied, with bodily injuries. One suspect was arrested and investigation is ongoing.
In a related development, an elated Police boss explained that some hoodlums known for snatching phones who were at Universal Basic Education, UBE Borokiri Sandfield, Port Harcourt Township to carry out operation were recently dislodged.
He stated that when Police operatives stormed there the hoodlums scampered and fled.
CP Nwonyi said Baretta pistol was recovered while investigation is ongoing.
It would be recalled that CP Emeka just two days ago, the command gun down the Onuigwe Nwodi, the suspected kidnap kingpin notorious armed from Elibrada community in Emohua local government area. He was gun down in Ogoloma forest in Okrika local government area along with his second in command and two others including a lady.
Dr. Chidi Lloyd, Chairman of Emohua local government area had placed a bounty of N2million on Onuigwe.
He commended the new CP Emeka for the renewed vigour in fighting crimes and criminalities but that his Council is not free yet.
