Police identify dismissed Killer Cop as Inspector Christopher Obah on illegal duty, to face murder trial today

*More Victims of stray bullets identified

The killer Police Officer who shot to death,Chukwuma Nnorum “School Boy”, a Commercial Tricycle Driver at Rukpokwu, Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State on Thursday has been identified as Inspector Christopher Obah.

CP Mukan Commissioner of Police in Rivers State stated this on a live Television that the now dismissed Inspector Christopher Obah was on an illegal duty, and was not supposed to be at the junction where Tricycle Drivers load the passengers at the time of tragic incident.

CP Mukan said:”As he got there,he had an altercation with said Keke Driver and fired at him. He has no justification for doing that. Policemen have procedure for using firearms and they know that.So for any misuse of firearms that is meant to protect citizens,the Policeman bears the consequences.

“Every body is responsible for the consequences of his actions. He is not supposed to main or  kill any Citizen is supposed to protect.

“His Orderly room trial was concluded last night. He will be charged for murder in Court tomorrow (today).

The incident attracted reaction from the Keke Drivers’ Union but was however immediately contained by our men deployed to the area. 

Public Relations Officer of Rukpokwu Youths Association, Aaron Nnamdi, had asked the Government to bring the trigger-happy Police Officer to book.
“It is a taboo to spill human blood in Rukpokwu Community not talk of innocent young boy who has not committed any crime.”We have been appealing to the Keke Drivers Union to remain calm and not take laws into their own hands.

It was later found out that no a few persons. For instance,a white hilux vehicle with “Operation Sting” inscription carrying two dead bodies were seen at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UNIPORT,while another brought in persons hit by bullets allegedly shot at them when the Police was firing live bullets to ward off angry Protesters.

Faces of more Victims of stray bullets fired by Policemen during protest over killing of Keke Driver in Rukpokwu yesterday surface online.

The Late Nkpara Noble Nwi-eezor,an orphan who hails Luusue Doggo Community in Khana Local Government area of Rivers State is a Pepper Grinder in Rumuokoro market was hit by Police stray bullets as they disperse Protest against killing the Keke Driver.

Amaechi Efungwu from Enugu in Enugu State is lying ill at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UNIPORT has bullets lodged in his body.He was shot from the back.

Another Victim is  one Ekrakene from Delta State has bullets lodged on his right leg.
