A commercial Tricycle (Keke) Driver was killed in early hours of today by unknown persons at the Rumuodara Junction along the East-West road in Obio-Akpor local Government Area of the state.
The incident today is making it the second Keke Driver who has been violently attacked in the same area in less than 48 hours after the last happened.
Two days ago a Keke Driver was stabbed in the neck by hoodlums yet to be apprehended by the Police.
The Chairman, Rivers State Tricycle (Keke) Operators, Comrade Benjamin Ibigwe confirmed that the incident but much details were given as the circumstances leading to his death.
DSP Nnamdi Omoni is the Spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command.
Our Correspondent called Nnamdi Omoni, Spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command he that he was yet to get the report but he will do the necessary contacts to find out if such incidents happened in Rumuodara junction today and two days ago.
“I am yet to get the reports of such incidents. However, I will be in touch with the Divisional Traffic Officer of Okporo Police Station which is charge of the area.”
Asked when to call back to get his responses, DSP Omoni said I will work on it immediately.
Calls were later put across to him about 45 minutes later the cell phone rang out without response.
