Gunmen Killed Agofure Motors Driver, Abducts The Remaining Passengers

Some heavily armed gunmen on Monday attacked a commercial bus belonging to Agofure motors, killing its driver on the spot before abducting the remaining passengers along the Rumuekpe-Ndele area of the East-West Road, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

www.towncrier.ng was reliably informed that the attacked bus was traveling to Port Harcourt from Warri in Delta State, before it was attacked in the early hours of Monday.

An eye witness who simply gave his name Ejiro, said, “Some gunmen attacked Agofure motors bus on this spot earlier today; they killed the driver and two other passengers, who I suspect were sitting in the front row of the vehicle.

“The bus was painted navy blue; I guess it was travelling from Warri to Port Harcourt before it was attacked. The driver, I think, tried to escape and the gunmen shot and killed him with two of the passengers.

“The remaining passengers,  were kidnapped taken into the bush.’’

When www.towncrier.ng contacted the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, he confirmed the incident, he said “I can confirm the incident  on East-West Road, precisely at the Rumuekpe junction, where some gunmen opened fire on a moving bus and the driver was killed immediately.
