Suspected Cultists belonging to Degbam and Highlander have killed an old man over 100 years after setting his house and properties ablaze.

The victim, who was identified as Pa. Assor Woke, was killed in his house by the cultists.
The Chairman of Egbeda Community Development Committee, Ukwoha Omereji, condemned the killing of Woke and described it as worrisome.
Ukwoha explained that leaders in the area had been meeting to ensure that peace reigned in the community
“The reason for the killing is still unknown. The man was over 100 years old,” Ukwoha said.
Confirming the incident to www.towncrier.ng, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said the oldest man in the community died when two rival cults clashed in the community and set houses ablaze.
“It was during the clash that the house where the victim was staying was set on fire. The man, due to his age, could not escape, but died inside the house.
“The police have begun investigation into the incident with a view to arresting those behind the death of the old man and bringing them to justice,” Omoni said.
