Alesa Youth Apprehend Suspected Armed Robber in Eleme, Rivers State

The Suspect, identified as Nede, is an alleged notorious criminal accused of habitually robbing passersby and terrorizing the community.

A source said the youths went in search of the suspect Thursday morning after they received report that he used a machete to inflict deep cuts on a fisherman, for reasons yet unknown, and scampered.

It was gathered that he was apprehended by a combine team led by both the Alesa Youth Council and Eleme Youth Council respectively, and has been handed over to the Eleme Police Division for proper investigation.

About two years ago, Nede was reportedly caught at the refinery junction with a rifle, and an angry mob had stripped and set him ablaze.

Some of his sympathizers were said to have used water to put out the fire, and he survived.

An eyewitness told Newsmen that nothing had been heard from him since that incident until reports emerged this morning about his encounter with the fisherman.
