41 years old man stabs father to death during heated argument in Port Harcourt

Homicide detectives of Rivers State Police in Rivers State Command have taken into custody and quizzing a 41 year old man identified as Ovundah Wiche, who stabbed his father to death in Ndudor Community, Choba, near Port Harcourt.

The circumstances and details of the incident remains sketchy.

However, an Eyewitness said the tragic incident happened yesterday, Thursday during a very heated argument between suspect, Ovundah Wiche, and his father.

The suspect was said to have dashed into the house with a knife moments after the tensed argument and stabbed his father on his head and neck leading to his death. 

Confirming the tragic incident, the  Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect, Mr Wiche, had been arrested and investigation had commenced.

She said the victim was stabbed in the neck but the circumstances surrounding the killing cannot be ascertained at the time of confirming the incident and filing this report.

Meanwhile, members of the Ndudor Community in Choba are shock and had been thrown into mourning.

Some of members of community who do not want to be quoted claim that the suspect had been having some signs of depression and may be suffering from elements of mental illness.
