The digital banking introduced into Nigerian banks has brought Information Communication Technology ICT revolution as Polaris bank after introducing VULTe a very smart banking procedure that aids its customers to transact businesses swiftly and accurately. Thus, four months after introducing VULTe, the selection committee quickly recognized Polaris bank as Digital Bank of the Year under global award category in its 2021 Business Day Banks And Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) awards. The criterion that won Polaris the coveted award includes leading in VULTe Digital banking which in less than 4-months of its launch it recorded over one million customers.
The award selection committee and the organizer of the award ceremony came out with a statement during the event proper held at Victoria Island Lagos stating that Polaris Bank’s VULTe did very well in its performance as it outshone other banks in that category with 8-metrics factors considered by the organizers.
According to the listed 8-metrics which include strength of strategy for attracting and gaining digital customers; accelerated user engagement since pandemic; success in getting clients to use digital offerings; growth of digital customers and platform security. Other conditions include the breadth of product offerings for retail and Corporate clients; evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives and web/mobile site design; intuitiveness and functionality.
In the 2021 BusinessDay Newspaper Award ceremony had other nominees in the Digital Bank of the year category which include: ALAT by Wema, Kuda and VBank all competed with Polaris Bank’s VULTe that emerged winner in Digital banking. Polaris Bank introduced VULTe on May 18th,2021 in grand ceremony held at Lagos which upon its launching it was predicted that it will take a quantum leap in leading Digital Banking architecture in Nigeria and barely 4-months it has been proven to have realized that objective.
The Chief executive Officer CEO of the Bank Mr. Innocent C. Ike while receiving the award on behalf of his company expressed gratitude to the customers of the bank for their loyalty and patronage while assuring them of improved quality in the bank’s services. In his speech he heaped accolades to the organisers of the Award BusinessDay Newspapers for their recognition of his VULTe among others. In his own words he said “We thank our customers for the trust they have in our Bank and our services and our dedicated Team that put VULTe together for a job well done. We live in a digital era and we have no choice but to lead this era as a bank. Thank you all and God bless”.
At the event, recognition of some other banks such Zenith Bank, United Bank for Africa and Fidelity Bank were mentioned with their going home with CEO of the Year, Bank of the Year and MSME and Entrepreneurship Financing Bank of the year.
In the period under review, VULTe according to financial analysts is said to have gained a greater milestone in crossing over one millionth customer threshold which has made it an outstanding product in the Nigerian banking sector of digital economy.
