COVID-19: Sex Workers groan as Brothels, Beer Parlours and Club houses in Port Harcourt shutdown for business

Sex workers in many parts of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State, Capital, are groaning over temporary shutdown in obedience to Governor Nyesom Wike’s order that club houses and Beer Parlours be closed to check the spread of Coronavirus.

In a notice pasted signed by management of one of the hotels, Cool Breeze Hotel ,said the business would be temporarily shut down due to COVID 19 and will resumed after the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the sex workers from the brothel had all vacated the building. The brothel hosts three brothels along Azikiwe street in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.

Other Brothels around the area still had some sex workers hanging around but with very low patronage.

Also, some brothels in Port Harcourt Township in Port Harcourt City Local Government Local Area and Rumuodamaya, Rukpokwu all in Obio-Akpor local government area, experience very low patronage by customers .
