The Hardworking governor of Rivers state popularly addressed as MR PROJECTS Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has submitted to the Rivers state House of Assembly names of nine commissioners as nominees for appointment into his executive cabinet. www.towncrier.ng gathered that majority of the commissioners nominees have worked with him in his first tenure while he added some new faces. Tuesday 3rd of March, 2020 has been slated for screening by the Rivers state House of Assembly in plenary.
Those nominated include: Barr. Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Hon. Boma Iyaye, Hon. Diamete Herbert Miller, Mrs. Tonye Oniyide, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, Dr. Igbiks Tamuno, Hon. Emeka Onowu, Prof. Chike Princewill and Mr. Ohia Prince.
Earlier than now he had appointed Commissioners for Justice and Attorney General and commissioner for finance, Information and Communications et al since he was sworn in on May 29th 2019 for a second term in office.
The Rivers state governor sometimes ago in February 2020 appointed Special Assistants and Special Advisers to help him run his administration having designated most of them to work in synergy with his promise to Rivers people in terms of providing development to the people of the state.
This is coming four days after the return of a political Octopus in Rivers state politics, Chief Allwell Henacho Onyesoh into Peoples Democratic Party-PDP after his foray in All Progressives Congress-APC for some years having been a foundation member and founder of PDP in Rivers state since 1999 to 2014 under RESTORATION FAMILY of Dr. PETER ODILI the erstwhile executive governor of Rivers state from 1999 to 2007. Chief Allwell Henacho Onyesoh was twice appointed Commissioner for Education and later commissioner for Sports where he excelled greatly in service of his good people of Rivers state.
What is not yet confirmed is the fact whether equal opportunities were followed for people with disabilities as enshrined in the recently passed Act of parliament in that regard. The Governor had few weeks back during his reception of the One Million Youth March group promised to include some of them into various positions of responsibility in his administration with Edison Ehis a member and Deputy speaker of Rivers state House of Assembly being the groups anchor man.
