The indigenous people in Diaspora of Etche /Omuma ethnic nationality living in the United States of America under the aegis of Etche-American Foundation has come up with human capital development progromme targeted at improving the standard of education in Etche/Omuma ethnic nationality through the awards of scholarships to indigent undergraduates and provision of Laptop computers to selected schools in the rural communities within Etche/Omuma land.
The Non-Governmental
Organization-NGO in fulfillment of its stated objectives of contributing to
ameliorating dearth of human capital, physical plants, and insecurity and lack
of adequate health care had presented cheques to Favour Nwanodi from Igboh
Clan, Beatrice Uloma Offor from Ozuzu Clan, Favour Chidinma Nwoke from Omuma
Clan, Chidi Miracle Chidiebere from Ulakwo Umuselem Clan, and Emeka Ogechi from
Okehi Clan all being recipients of the scholarship awards.
The chairman
of Board of directors of Etche –American Foundation Mr. Dominic Ogbonna Amaugwu
during the presentation ceremony at Obiri Etche reiterated that the scholarship
is part of the Foundation’s efforts to promote education in Etcheland while
imploring other stakeholders to be part of the team that will make positive
contributions to restoring the glory of Etche ethnic nationality.
While commending the scholarship committee for their impartial and unbiased disposition during the selection process, though, primarily based on merit, he charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity offered them by the sons and daughters of Etche resident in the United States of America by shunning all forms of crime and criminality, live above board and eventually come up as useful citizens in the society.

President
General of Ogbakor Etche, Sir, Machy Nwodim who was present during the
scholarship presentation award ceremony acknowledged the importance of
investing in human capital development as he said that “this is not the first
time the body has given scholarship to deserving students of Etche and
Omuma”. Continuing in his speech he
commended the body particularly their Board Chairman, Mr. Amaugwu who had at
various times devoted his time as well as made enormous sacrifices to ensure
that Etche moves forward.
Recently at different ceremony, the body donated two brand new Hilux vans to Okehi Police Divisional Headquarters in Etche ant that of Area Command located at Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area for logistics and fight against crime in the areas under the zone. The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area Honourable Obinna Anyanwu in his remarks at the scholarship award ceremony said that the move is welcome development geared towards complementing the efforts of Government in this direction and charged the students to reciprocate the gesture by working hard to achieve set goals.
