RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR NYESOM WIKE’S EXIT FROM PDP COMING

–WHAT HE TOLD PARTY LEADERS

BY EMEKA AMAEFULA

No-one will ignore warnings from a strong politician like Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike whose pedigree in political engineering has earned him accolades across the length and breadth of Nigeria since 1999 when he first contested for the Chairmanship position of his Obio/Akpor Local Government Council.  His current war of words with the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party-PDP over serious contending issues since the conclusion of the 2019 general elections and emergence of All Progressives Congress-APC at the helms of affairs at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. Fist his comment on the setting up of the 5-Man Investigative Committee by the BoT over House of Representatives Minority Leader Ndudi Elumelu. Wike’s quick congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari over his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting at Abuja the Federal Capital Territory-FCT.   “The Committee set-up by the PDP on the illegal emergence of Ndudi Elumelu is the most corrupt committee ever set-up by the Party. We thank our worthy son, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, for withdrawing from the committee, so that he is not entangled in the illegal activities of the tainted committee. We are warning PDP to be careful not to toy with Rivers State. Rivers state has all it takes to withstand the PDP and fight the party to a standstill. The Rivers state governor is not one of those governors that anyone can cajole. The Rivers state governor is not one of those governors that will kowtow to their illicit activities”.

It is on record how the Board of Trustees –BoT of PDP reacted after the Chairman of the 5-Man Committee and its Secretary, the former Senate President Adolphus Wagbara had dispute over the submission of their findings to national Working Committee of PDP which the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiya described as an internal affairs of the party. But the Rivers state governor Wike is not a politician to ignore when the intrigues of party politics comes to play ahead of the 2023 General elections.
