Looming war in ogbogoro community in Rivers over Election of LANDLORDS’/property owner Association officers

…As Shape Division Rocks Eneka Councils of Chiefs, Elders

If report reaching our newsdesk is anything to go by, then we can report that there is a looming crisis between some indigenes and non indigenes residing in Rugburuehi community in Ogbogoro,Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state.

The Towncrier investigations shows that trouble started following an election by the landlords Association in the area; which we learnt followed due processes and rules as prescribed by the electoral guidelines; but suddenly truncated by some greedy chiefs bent for the chairmanship position to be reserved for an indigene of the community.

We learnt that the shady development to reserved the position of the chairmanship of the landlords Association of the area triggers a shape division among chiefs, youths and non indigenes who do not see the need for the position of the chairmanship of the association to be reserved for only indigenes of the community.

Our source hinted that the situation if not prevented may lead to bloodshed, as we gathered that some of the chiefs who are corruptly interested in the looming crisis has imposed illegal levies on some of the properties own by non indigenes residing in the community.

Our further investigations also revealed that some of the indigenes and non indigenes including some chiefs of the community, not in support of the ugly development are now threatening court action if the development continued to degenerate.

So far, efforts to get an objective position over the matter from the Eneka chiefs councils proves aborting as at the time of press.
