The galore of commendations for Gov Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State seems to be endless. The people of Ward 9 in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State are not left out.
They are happy and grateful that the governor appointed one of their illustrious son, Prince (Hon) ILamu Jonathan Arugu to serve in his cabinet as Commissioner for Social Welfare and Social Rehabilitation.
They also expressed their gratitude for the ongoing renovation works at the primary school in Adada, courtesy of the LGA CTC chairman, pointing out that many governments have come and gone, yet the school was neglected. But that this government came and changed all that.
Rev (High Chief) Standfast Robinson Arugu, who spoke on behalf of the ward’s chiefs, elders, leaders and stakeholders told newsmen on Monday in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State that the ward also pleaded with the governor to complete the ongoing Ekaago – Ogboloma – Adada road project which he promised during the campaign.
He said, “we want to use this opportunity to appreciate the governor for appointing our illustrious son, Prince (Hon) ILamu Jonathan Arugu to work with him in his cabinet. He didn’t make a mistake; the governor didn’t make a mistake.
“ILamu is a square peg in a square hole. With all his experiences as we know him; an administrator, he’s a leader and a very humble man. A man that doesn’t speak from the two sides of his mouth. Our dear governor, we’re saying thank you for what you’ve done.”
High Chief Standfast Robinson Arugu also thanked the governor for continuing with the Ekaago – Ogboloma – Adada road project and urged him to complete it as soon as possible, pointing out that, “whatever that is started should have a conclusion. We therefore, want you to, please our amiable governor to conclude that road project in the shortest possible time.
“We also want to use this opportunity to thank you for urging the CTC chairman to award the project of renovation of our primary school in Adada community. No other person could have done that except you. We say thank you.”
He further congratulated Prince (Hon) ILamu Jonathan Arugu for the appointment and advised him to attract government to the ward and LGA and to always remember that the people were looking up to him.
