Presidency: Atiku suffers setback, PDP snubs candidacy in Calabar

In a surprise action, the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Monday brushed side welcoming the Presidential Candidate of the opposition People Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on his arrival at the State Capital for the Cross River State PDP Presidential rally in Calabar.

Abubakar was reportedly come in to land at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, at about 2:14 pm for his Party’s incessant rally at the U. J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

Atiku received an appalling stroke of backlash from the Cross River State PDP Party Chairman, Barr. Venatius Ikem, Cross River PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Serving Senator Sandy Onor, Cross River PDP Senatorial aspirant Northern Senatorial District, Serving Senator Jarigbe Agom, Cross River PDP House of Representatives Candidates, Cross River PDP Stakeholders, Cross River PDP Chieftains, ardent supporters and members of the Party makes U-turn meeting with their Party’s Presidential Candidate, AA in the State Capital, Calabar.

Netizens had earlier substantiated that the River State Governor, Nyesom Wike is discreetly rooting for the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Correspondingly, PDP Rivers Presidential Council said on Thursday, last week that it had pinpointed Tinubu of APC, as Governor Nyesom Wike’s choice for the forthcoming election. The council in a letter dated Wednesday, February 1, 2023, let out Wike had already directed all local government chairmen, his aides, and party executive members to deliver APC and Tinubu at the poll.

Conceding to Wike’s directives, the PDP Cross River has reflected a standstill to Wike’s physique on his phraseology endorsement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC. Correlating, Governor Wike had earlier hosted a delegation of the Party’s chairmen in the various local government areas, Peoples Democratic Party’s candidates for the State and National Assembly elections in Cross River State, where he donated 25 buses for campaign utility.

Sandy Onor whose political ordeal was birthed from Nyesom Wike and the PDP delegation of leaders’ deliberate actions has imitated a knock-out on Atiku’s defeat in the forthcoming poll as the PDP Presidential standard-bearer campaign trail misfortune.
