RIVERS STATE TOP APC POLITICIAN–CHIEF ALLWELL ONYESOH BIDS FOR RIVERS EAST SENATORIAL SEAT
The stage is now set for the All Progressive Congress-APC Rivers East senatorial race late 2018 ahead of the 2019 General elections as a leading Etche Rivers state born politician and a seasoned administrator Chief Allwell Onyesoh during the first week of March, 2018 announced to his political followers and constituents his willingness to contest for the Rivers East senatorial seat which has chief Andrew Uchendu of All Progressive Congress-APC occupying the position. In APC structure in Rivers state the incumbent senator Chief Uchendu belongs to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s inner kitchen cabinet leadership structure while Chief Allwell Onyesoh is well known for his political permutations which all do come true at the end of each electoral poll and he belongs to Senator Magnus Ngei Abe’s 2019 APC Governorship aspiration Group known as THE MEETING where he weighs much political influence and control due to his experiences in political engineering in Rivers state and beyond. His admirers call him the “Octopus” that is the one who predicts election results and gets it right.
Chief Allwell Onyesoh has been appointed as Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Sports during the Dr. Peter Odili’s administration and he was chairman of Senior Secondary Schools Board during Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s administration. Earlier before this time in the aborted 3rd Republic he was elected into Rivers state House of Assembly under United Nigeria Congress Party-UNCP where he represented Etche Constituency -2. Being a University of Jos graduate of Linguistics/Communication Arts he was employed as Senior Lecturer at the then College of Basic Studies now Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnics Port Harcourt Rivers state. While working as a Senior Lecturer Chief Allwell Onyesoh was very active in his political career solving personal problems of his constituents who he helped a lot in taking care of their numerous responsibilities even from his meager salary as a Senior Lecturer then.

With this his coming to contest Rivers East senatorial seat which no Etche politician had attempted since the creation of Old Rivers state on May 27th 1967 to date. If elected into the Red Hallowed Chamber of the National Assembly Chief Allwell Onyesoh will be the first Etche born politician to ascend to that level of electoral political office in Nigeria. Hence it is on record that in the last 50-years of the creation of Old Rivers state no Etche son or daughter has been elected or appointed as Governor, Deputy, Speaker of rivers state House of assembly or Deputy Speaker, Secretary –To-Rivers State Government—SSG or Chief Judge of Rivers state or elected as senator of Rivers East where the Etche people hold majority of Votes cast at each electoral poll in Rivers state. Many Rivers state people do talk about his good qualities as in humanitarian and social services with the ability to relate with people of various background irrespective of their social Class. On 26th of November 2017, Chief Allwell Onyesoh was a recipient of South-South Grass root Politician of the Year in a well organized high profile Political Award ceremony held at Balmoral Hall Oregun Road Lagos where many Senators and ex Governors attended with former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar showing presence as his two children personally received his Politician of the year Award for him.
