By Ukandi Christopher/Port Harcourt

The leadership of Brown Major House of Finima, Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Se-Alabo Evans Buoye Brown says, it was bizarre for the men of the Divisional Police headquarters, Finima to turn a blind eye to attacks matted on the principal members of the house on the occasion of the presentation of the Se-Alabo to the Amayanabo in council as demanded by the Ibani customs and tradition.

According to a statement signed by six of the chiefs of Brown house, Opuwari, Finima Town and read at a press conference, held at the Ernest Ikoli Press center, Port Harcourt, Monday, a copy of which, Town Crier sighted, the attack on the chiefs took place in plain sight, at the Long House Junction, a hundred meters away from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Finima.

Narrating, Se-Alabo Brown stated that the attackers were members of a faction of Brown Major House who favours another candidate, not qualified to be selected as the Se-Alabo of Brown house.

He added that the attackers fired live ammunitions at them, stabbed and dealt serious machete cuts on six persons, burn vehicles and vandalized houses while the royal crown, staff of office, four layers of beads and vital documents were stolen in the process.

The chiefs stated that the anarchy descended on the Finima community was misplaced, uncalled for and selfish as they called on the machinery government to step in and put an end to ugly situation.
